Anti-Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy

Last updated: June 2026

1. Introduction

SB Construction (Herts) Ltd is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We are committed to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees, directors, officers, agency workers, contractors, and business partners.

2. Our Commitment

We are committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains. We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers, and other business partners.

As a recruitment business operating in the construction sector, we recognise that workers in our industry can be vulnerable to exploitation. We take this responsibility seriously and have measures in place to identify and address any risks.

3. Our Policies

We operate a number of internal policies to ensure we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:

  • Recruitment policy — we operate a robust recruitment process, including verifying the identity and right to work of all candidates before placement.
  • Whistleblowing policy — we encourage all workers and business partners to report any concerns related to the direct activities or supply chains of the business.
  • Code of conduct — our code makes clear the actions and behaviour expected of employees when representing the business.
  • Supplier due diligence — we carry out due diligence on new suppliers and regularly review existing supplier relationships.

4. Due Diligence

As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains, we undertake due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers and regularly review our existing suppliers. Our due diligence includes:

  • Evaluating the modern slavery and human trafficking risks of each new supplier.
  • Reviewing on a regular basis all aspects of the supply chain based on the supply chain mapping.
  • Conducting supplier audits or assessments where appropriate.
  • Requiring all workers to have valid right to work documentation before placement.
  • Ensuring workers are paid directly and not through a third party without our knowledge.

5. Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to relevant members of staff. We also require our business partners to provide training to their staff and suppliers and providers where relevant.

6. Reporting Concerns

We encourage all workers, customers, and other business partners to report any concerns related to the direct activities or supply chains of SB Construction (Herts) Ltd. If you believe or suspect a breach of this policy has occurred or that it may occur, please contact us immediately.
